Frequently Asked Questions

Should I replace my windows before the siding or vice versa?

Ideally, it is best to do both projects at the same time, but you can do either project first if you cannot do them simultaneously. If you decide to replace your windows first, there are no issues. If you decide to replace your siding and trim first, you should not “wrap” your exterior window trim. Replacement windows are installed from the outside of the house, and if the existing wood windows have trim already covering them, they will need to be removed and reconstructed before they can be installed.

Can I Customize My Windows?

Yes, replacement windows can be customized to fit your home, and we offer multiple styles and colors, as well as grids, and window glass patterns for various add-ons.

What Window Brands Do You Offer?

Tri State offers a variety of top-of-the-line window and siding brands like James Hardie. Your exterior design consultant will discuss all your options at the time of your appointment.

Why Can’t I Get A Quote Over The Phone?

What Does My Warranty Cover?

Your warranty covers your window’s parts and materials for the entire time you live in your home and is transferred to the next homeowner.

What Do I Need to Do To Prepare My Home For Installation?

We ask that you remove any fragile or valuable items near the window. All window treatments must also be removed – please be advised in certain cases, that these treatments might not fit after your windows have been installed.

Why is Re-siding Your Home Necessary?

Adding new siding to your home will not only show off the style of your home but also reduce the costs of upkeep and maintenance. Siding protects your home against the elements such as rain and snow that can result in water damage.

Can Siding Installations Affect the Interior of My Home?

While the siding is being replaced, there may be some rattling and pounding on your home’s exterior walls. It is recommended that you remove any fragile items from the exterior or interior walls of your home that may fall during installation. Installing new siding for your home is an important and necessary part of improving your home.
